Finally An Easy & Quick to Make SOLID SHAMPOO Recipe.

There you go, your homemade solid shampoo is already ready :-)

Easy, fast and economical, isn't it?

No more putting chemicals on your hair! You will immediately see the difference.

Your hair is softer and shinier and it does not get dirty as quickly.

Plus, you don't have to use plastic bottles anymore! Zero waste, it's still better, isn't it?

For those looking for a solid shampoo without surfactants, here is the recipe here.

Use

Very easy ! This harsh shampoo is used like a classic soap.

You can lather it in your hands or directly on the hair.

The great thing is that it rinses off easily. And you will find that your hair is naturally detangled.

Once you're done, let your shampoo dry on a rack or soap dish.

Additional advice

The basis of solid shampoos is made up of solid surfactants.

The different types of surfactants are: Sodium Coco Sulfate (SCS), Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI) or and Sodium Lauryl Sulfoketate (SLSA).

All 3 are derived from coconut oil. They allow the shampoo to have a more or less foaming texture.

They should make up 60% of your recipe, or 60 g for a shampoo that weighs 100 g.

You will find surfactants in organic stores or here on the internet.

They are often sold as vermicelli that you can grind or crush in a mortar. This allows you to have a more homogeneous base.

Be careful not to breathe these powders : they are very irritating to the respiratory tract.

Customize your solid shampoo

This solid shampoo recipe is super simple. But you can add a few optional extra ingredients.

- 10 to 15 g of plant powder or clay: nettle, neutral henna, clay, marshmallow, Ayurvedic plant powder, shikakai ... This will allow you to adapt the properties of your shampoo, according to your needs (anti-dandruff by example) and the nature of your hair (dry, oily ...).

- 20 to 30 drops of essential oils depending on the scents you like or the nature of your hair: lavender, tea tree, lemon, ylang-ylang, geranium, Atlas cedar, rosemary ...

- If you want to have a shampoo that creates a lot of foam: use half of SCS and half of SCI (50/50). For a gentler, sulfate-free shampoo with less lather, use 60% SCI and 40% SLSA.
